After over a decade in risk and project management consulting, a search for new challenges that would integrate consulting experience with a passion for service and ethical leadership prompted a return to school. This broadened horizons, knowledge, and commitment, resulting in involvement with numerous nonprofit boards and philanthropic endeavors. Each role served as a stepping stone, building a solid foundation in leadership and strategic insight.
The evolving dynamics of college athletics, particularly with Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) regulations, created an ideal situation for a new venture, leading to a role in Penn State’s NIL early initiatives. Working closely with Division 1 student-athletes and athletic programs provided invaluable insights into the mechanics of effective and ethical NIL practices. The tenure at Penn State highlighted the necessity of various approaches and emphasized transparency and ethics as foundations for successful relationships and effective donor campaigns. These insights have been invaluable in ongoing advocacy for fair and sustainable NIL practices.
The journey continued with developing a supporter initiative for a Division 1 program, which integrates traditional opportunities with leadership development to bolster both the athletic and personal growth of student-athletes. By establishing comprehensive support structures, the initiative ensures that student-athletes' opportunities will have lasting impacts, while offering diverse opportunities for donors.
Additional discussions with coaches, boosters, administrators, and collectives deepened insights into the dynamics and challenges surrounding NIL, leading to the establishment of a consulting practice. This new endeavor broadens the capacity to help more programs adopt ethical and sustainable practices. The firm is committed to developing strategies that not only meet current requirements but also uphold long-term success and integrity for the student-athletes they serve.
